Most regular importers have marine insurance to cover their goods while they are in transit. Marine insurance covers them for damage or loss to cargo, ships and the transport the cargo is transferred to, or resting in from one point of origin to the next and then to its final destination.
If you don’t have cover and have goods being shipped, there is no compulsory requirement to have marine insurance, but you are strongly advised to have it. Removal firms who ship customers’ personal belongings are particularly advised to be properly and adequately covered to provide their customers with full assurance.
